The First Visit
During the first visit, you will be welcomed by the doctor and an assistant, who will be fully available to you in what we like to call “active listening”: understanding your medical history while striving to identify your needs as completely as possible. The central focus of this initial meeting will be your story, from which the reasons that led you to seek a consultation with us should emerge. During the consultation, we will review the details of your personal medical and dental history, collected in a detailed form that you will receive by email a few days beforehand, so you can fill it out comfortably at home.
Alongside the doctor, you will meet the treatment coordinator, a dentist who holds a special role within the DentalBreraClinic team. The treatment coordinator will become your main point of reference throughout your care pathway, offering expertise in both clinical and organizational matters. They will always be available to explain the planned therapies, schedule or reschedule appointments, and connect you with the appropriate team member you may need at any stage of the treatment.
We have carefully structured the different stages of the first visit to immediately place the patient at the center of our attention and design a therapeutic pathway tailored to their needs. In doing so, we have drawn on the principles of modern Narrative Medicine, a discipline developed at Harvard Medical School and Columbia University in New York, and now studied at leading medical schools in our country. Our clinic team has undergone specialized training to increasingly incorporate this approach: empathy and emotional intelligence as essential tools in a new vision of the doctor–patient relationship.
