Biotechnologies for the regeneration of compromised tissues
Technology also supports us when it is necessary to accelerate the healing process following surgical procedures, providing us with biomedical equipment that until recently was considered futuristic.

FASTER HEALING FOR GUMS AND ORAL MUCOSA
To promote the regeneration of gum and bone tissues, we use the platelet concentrate technique to obtain enriched plasma, called PRF (platelet-rich fibrin): a small amount of blood is taken from the patient and placed in a centrifuge that separates red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, producing a concentrate of platelets and white blood cells. These last two types of cells are rich in growth factors and are responsible for stimulating the initial phases of tissue healing processes. In practice, this allows us to “turbocharge” the body’s natural healing processes.
Following a similar principle, we rely on stem cells when we want to stimulate the growth of specific cellular compartments. After collecting a sample of connective tissue from the pulp of a tooth or another area of the oral bone, it is filtered through a machine that selects the cells, retaining only the tiny, youngest, and most vital stem cells. This concentrate of active cells is then mixed with graft material and applied to the tissue where regrowth is desired. The stem cells will transform into specialized cells capable of accelerating the growth of more complex tissue structures, such as those of the periodontal ligament.
