After the consultation, you will undergo the clinical examination. The doctor and assistant will review any previous tests you have had, so please bring them with you. Old X-rays and dental casts can also be useful.
Thorough examinations will be carried out, including a diagnostic assessment of both the oral cavity and the face, with particular attention to the aesthetic analysis of your smile. Any jaw or muscle issues will be evaluated and, if needed, further examined by one of our trusted specialists (gnathologist) to highlight occlusal correlations and musculoskeletal disorders.
To ensure the most complete data collection possible, radiographic exams will be performed (from a minimum of 4 up to 21 intraoral X-rays and/or a panoramic X-ray), and impressions of the mouth will be taken—either traditional or via digital optical scanning—to obtain models of the dental arches. Finally, a series of extraoral and intraoral photographs will be taken to optimize the treatment plan and later allow comparisons with the initial condition.
Within our clinic, it is also possible to perform a CBCT scan (volumetric radiography), an exam necessary to precisely plan implant placement in three dimensions or to assess the relationship between the inferior alveolar nerve and the roots of the wisdom teeth.
The analysis of all diagnostic documents, combined with the symptoms reported during the personal consultation, will provide the dentist with an accurate overview of your individual clinical situation. The study of your case will conclude with the preparation of a treatment plan aimed at restoring both the functional and aesthetic health of your mouth.
